
Amanda (she/her) is a writer, editor, translator, and educator, originally from Ottawa and currently based in Toronto (Treaty 13). She is the author of the poetry collection Most of All the Wanting (Palimpsest Press, 2024) and the chapbook Put the Ghosts Down Between Us (Anstruther Press, 2021). She is currently Associate Poetry Editor at Plenitude Magazine and a member of the editorial board at Anstruther Press.
Amanda has been a finalist for the Poem of the Year contest, the Montreal Fiction Prize, and The Fiddlehead Fiction Contest. Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Arc Poetry Magazine, The Capilano Review, CV2, The Fiddlehead, Grain, Literary Review of Canada, The Maynard, Plenitude, Prairie Fire, PRISM International, Room, and with Playwrights Canada Press. She has also devised and produced theatre projects with The Kick & Push Festival and County Stage Company.
As an educator, Amanda has experience in both formal and informal learning spaces, and she has held leadership roles in arts & heritage education, collaborative inquiry, and equity-based curriculum and pedagogies. She is currently English Program Director at Poetry in Voice / Les voix de la poésie and Director of Education at Defining Moments Canada.
Amanda holds a Master of Arts in Literatures of Modernity from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Master of Teaching from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto.
