About

Amanda (she/her) is a poet, writer, editor, and educator. Her writing has appeared in Arc Poetry Magazine, CV2, Grain, Literary Review of CanadaThe Maynard, Pathways, Prairie FirePRISM International, and Room. She was a shortlisted finalist for Arc Poetry Magazine’s 2022 Poem of the Year Contest.

Her first chapbook, Put the Ghosts Down Between Us, was released in September 2021 by Anstruther Press and her debut poetry collection is forthcoming from Palimpsest Press in Spring 2024. She is currently a contributing editor at Arc Poetry Magazine and a member of the editorial board at Anstruther Press.

Amanda is also a producer and artist-educator with Cultivate Arts Collective, where she devises performance projects, creates interactive installations, and engages in arts education with and for young people. She has been an educator in both formal classrooms and informal spaces for a decade, and has provided educational coaching and leadership in collaborative inquiry and equity-based curriculum and pedagogies. She is currently a project coordinator at Defining Moments Canada.

Amanda holds an MA in English from Toronto Metropolitan University and an MT from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto (UT). She is currently a PhD student at OISE/UT, where her research engages both queer and disability studies.
